Mail Art News #80: August 2, 2024

Thanks as always to Mail Art News Media Specialist, Ariel Greenwood, this time for coordinating the interlibrary loan of the Lenore Tawney book from the MICA Library. While there were many intriguing images in the book, I've uploaded the ones I connected with the most.

Here's a little biography of Lenore Tawney and some more at wikipedia. While there are always concerns about moderators editing articles based on their own personal biases and agendas, wikipedia can still be good starting point to get a general idea about a topic.

The first issue of the Zoom Mail Art Group magazine is available for free online. There's some exciting potential here. I will be keeping an eye on this development.

William M's Rubber Postcard #48 was mailed out recently. Participants send him multiple copies of their artwork and then William compiles all the participants' images into multiple copies of a zine for mailing out to the participants.

One from the archives. Arbeit means work in German. What might be the meaning of math-qi-tongue-work? Well the tongue is the main worker in verbal communications. There is energy involved in that. Maybe you've even noticed micro-sensations in your tongue while thinking, making plans... calculating, silently.

  1. You're welcome. It was a good book. We will have to find more rare mail art media...

  2. Yes we will have to!

I / we should finally take a visit to the MICA library too. See what else they have there.
