incoming from Nonlocal Variable Welcome to another weekly review. Come along if you care. Come along if you dare.  Let's jump right in. The Mail Carrier Handbook on Facebook  is a good resource for postal culture humor. Will mail art end one day? There are certain challenges for current and future artists willing to journey the mail art path, mainly the increasing cost of postage (when might wages catch up with decades of inflation?) and the fact that kids today are born with smart phones in hand, but mail art is still alive and well for now. And maybe, just maybe, the OIMA campaign for a reduced postage rate for correspondence art will prove successful.  Who's ready for Halloween? Monster A Go-Go was recently commissioned to make a Halloween party poster, which was then also converted to envelope form.  outgoing mail by  Monster A Go-Go   Did someone say Halloween? outgoing rubber stamp collage, T. Brown , 9-2023 Atlas comes to mind, but you will notice he's not carrying the actual Earth. It's a picture of the Earth on a big TV.  The week sped by so quickly that I didn't have time to check the social media sites or the internet-at-large very much, though I do have something pigeon-related  to share that I think you will enjoy, thanks to Mail Art News media specialist Ariel Greenwood . booklet from Adam R. , circa 2020-2021, courtesy of the Brown Megacorporation Mail Art Archives As I await the arrival of Autumn-Fall and ponder if pumpkin spiced mail art is possible, it occurs to me that my Mail Art News activities will vary based on a number of factors:  F ree time: Setting aside time each week for blogging = no problem for now. This fluctuates depending on what else is happening in my life each week. Busy lives, time constraints.  I nternet searching: Looking through social media websites and the internet-at-large for mail art related content. Saving links and images ahead of time. Do I feeeel like including a piece of mail art I've seen or an event in the blog post? Can't include everything I see. Motivational factors, psychology.   N etworking: Sending and receiving mail. Posting and commenting online. Emailing. You have to have something(s) to send. If you get little mail, there is little to document. If you get a lot of mail, there is a lot to document.
